1861, June 10 Launched as VICTOR, built with Whittaker side screws,

these proved to be a failure & were replaced with

conventional sidewheels; renamed & first documented as

SUNBEAM, to run west shore of Lake Michigan

1862 On west shore Lake Michigan route, Chicago, Racine, Kenosha & Two

Rivers

1863 On route Chicago, Grand Haven, Michigan & St.Joseph, Michigan

with trips to Lake Superior
