1881 Towed behind steamer V.SWAIN between Marquette, Michigan &

Cleveland, Ohio in ore trade

1883, November 16 En route for Marquette with coal, broke tow of tug

SAMPSON in storm & grounded on beach near Grand

Portal, Pictured Rocks, Lake Superior; crew rescued,

vessel broke up

1884, December 21 Enrollment surrendered Cleveland, "vessel lost"

1985 Wreckage found, some in shallows; remainder & much of coal cargo

two miles west of Spray Falls - 200 yards offshore in 40-50 feet
