Note Capt. Edward George Stines had a serious medical condition that needed to be treated every day or two.
He could not see the doctor at Milwaukee so it was believed by James Stanley Morton that Capt. Stines left dock earlier to get home to see his doctor in St. Joseph Michigan.
The Morton family keep this a secret for they worried that if is got out the family's would sue the company.
James Stanley Morton revealed the secret on his death bed the day that they sold the last of the Graham & Morton line at auction Oct 1936.
