On third trip with contraband from Nassau to Wilmington, NC with cargo of cotton, was chased by Federal blockaders. Ran aground below Fort Wilmington, within few days storm completely pounded hull to pieces. Cotton cargo salvaged & sold at auction.

Employed in through line from Hamilton to Montreal. Ran with steamers NEW ERA, CHAMPION, MAY FLOWER, MAPLE LEAF & HIGHLANDER.

1857, Jul 2 Ran ashore during storm on Ile Madeline below Quebec, tearing away keel & collapsing engine guides.

1857, Jul 11 Refloated & repaired Quebec.

1858, Oct Ran on Lake Ontario, Rochester to Cobourg route.

1859 Made towboat for use on St. Lawrence River.

1862-63 Owned Robert Sawyer & Ramon Menerdez, of Nassau, BWI; rebuilt New York; placed under British registry; dimensions 174' x 24' x 18.4', 263 tons.

1863, Sep 16 Left Nassau with contraband for Wilmington, wrecked Wilmington, made two trips successfully.
